St Peter's School

Instrumental Tuition

Students receive tuition from visiting staff on orchestral and band instruments. A further number of students receive tuition on the piano, voice, guitar and drums. These students participate in a wide range of instrumental and vocal groups organised by departmental and visiting staff.

Performance opportunities during the year are many and varied. During the year students will participate in the November and May Musical Evenings and the School Carol Concert and Civic Carol Service in December. The various ‘Celebration of Achievement’ Evenings include musical performances too as do the termly talent shows. The Music Department does, from time to time, support other events organised by the Town Council and takes part in the Key Stage 2 Music Festival. The department also provides music for joint productions staged in collaboration with the Drama Department, the most recent of which being ‘Guys And Dolls’ and ‘Cinderella’.

Summer Term Instrumental Timetables

Please note that students wishing to take ABRSM instrumental examinations this year will have the opportunity to do so during the Summer Term. Entries / payment for examinations will need to be made during the Spring Term. Please see Mr. Goodman for details. Thank you.
