St Peter's School

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a real adventure open to all students in Years 9 and above.

Enrolment forms and other useful information are also available to download from this page.

Founded in 1956, the Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) is the world’s leading youth achievement award. Among its key principles are that it is non-competitive, achievement-focused and available to all. It provides a balanced, flexible and progressive program aimed at personal development. It is very highly regarded by employers, rating higher than work experience in recent surveys.

We are very proud to offer this at St Peter’s.  We offer the D of E Bronze Award starting in Year 9, and students are now able to start working towards their Award as soon as they are enrolled. The Practice Expedition takes place during the summer of Year 10 along with the Assessed Expedition.

The Silver Award is offered to Year 11 and 12 students, with both Expeditions taking place after they have finished their GCSE exams. Students do not have to have participated in the Bronze Award to enter the Silver Award.

The Gold Award is for Year 12 and 13 students and is assessed as appropriate.
