  • Famille et copains: brothers and sisters, my family, animals, describing yourself and others, hair and eyes.

 

  • Chez moi: my town, my house, my bedroom, evening routines and time.
  • On va en ville: places in town, directions, expressing opinions, ordering drinks and snacks.

 

  • Ma journée: mornings routines, school subjects, giving opinions and reasons, my timetable, after school.
  • On s’amuse: sports and games, music instruments, hobbies, at the leisure centre, going on holiday.

 

Year 8

  • Famille et domicile: families, jobs, where people live, describing the weather and typical day,
  • Temps libre: Talking about last weekend, sports you do, TV programmes, talking about what you did with your friends and saying what you friend did

 

  • Les sorties: Making and reacting to invitations, making excuses, talking about clothes, shops and shopping, understanding longer text with mixed tenses.
  • Manger et boire: Talking about food and breakfast, French meals, preparing for party, shopping for food, eating at a restaurant

 

  • Voyages et vacances: Countries and languages, talking about holidays, describing a holiday centre, talking about past holiday and finding information about a holiday destination.

Year 9

  • Ça t’intéresse: talk about what you watch on TV, going to the cinema, describing yourself and others, opinions about reading, past tense.
  • L’avenir: planning what they are going to do, talk about the future, future careers, importance of languages, use languages (a case study)

 

  • En bonne santé: talk about illness, saying what’s wrong, healthy living, understand and give advice on food choices, keep-fit activities.
  • Les gens comme nous: learn about French-speaking sportspeople, describe other people, understand information about people, use the language to investigate a crime.

 

  • On y va: a region of France, travel arrangements, arranging hotel accommodation, a visit to an attraction and a motor race.

Year 11

  • The World and the Environment: Threats and dangers to the environment , conservation and recycling.
  • School and Further Education: School subjects, facilities, uniform, rules and comparison of British and German systems.

 

  • Work and Future Plans: Careers and  part-time jobs, applying for jobs and work experience.
  • Free time: Going out with friends – shopping, using the internet, comparing festivals in different countries.

  • Ofsted Chief Inspector visits Cambridgeshire secondary school to launch annual Ofsted report

    Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools Amanda Spielman chose to visit St Peter’s School in Huntingdon to launch her first Ofsted annual report in recognition of the rapid improvements at the school.
