St Peter's is a 'Good' School!
I am delighted to inform you of the outcome of St Peter’s School’s Ofsted inspection that took place on 2nd/3rd March, the full report of which can be found at http://www.stpeters.cambs.sch.uk/page/?pid=288.
The St Peter’s approach to sport is in line with the School's belief that education is concerned with the whole human being. As a department we encourage participation and enjoyment in a wide range of physical activities, allowing students to become successful participants, officials or spectators. We aim to develop an understanding of the place of physical activity in everyday life and develop an awareness of fitness and healthy lifestyles.
The 6 members of PE staff are whole-heartedly committed to every student; we actively participate in fixtures across the district and regularly compete in national competitions. Guild competitions are an excellent feature of extra-curricular sport. We have an excellent take up of both GCSE and A Level PE courses and support students through a range of additional opportunities at all levels.
We can boast excellent facilities and a curriculum that is balanced, yet broad. A student at St Peter's will have every opportunity to lead an active and healthy lifestyle for a minimum of 2 hours per week in a challenging and rewarding environment where the learner’s progress is at the heart of all teaching.
The week will involve learning about autism during tutor times through discussions, videos and activities. The resources we will using can be found on The National Autistic Society’s website: http://www.autism.org.uk/?gclid=CN6i65Wo09ICFbQV0wodx5EIgA
